Universal health insurance! Whoopee! Here we go folks, sliding down the mountain to rock bottom socialist dictatorship and oppression ... Whee! While everyone is distracted by the soda tax, prisoner photos, and whatever insane idea they come up with next week .. Obama is pushing the sled faster and faster. Ain't this fun?

You can't adjust the wind but you can adjust the sails. People have turned cheek and not realized that all "change" is not growth; as all movement is not forward. Obama uses both of these words loosely. We have all been given these illusions that we are headed in a better direction, maybe we are, maybe we are not. I just can't figure out how a person can spend themselves out of debt!

BO tells everybody including the press, "You voted for me" which means I'm gonna do want I want, and I told you all what I was gonna do before you elected me.
The first politician to tell everybody how he was gonna stick it in and break it off, and this country still voted him in. I guess they figured he was lying like most of them do.
It sucks to have seen it comin and then have to watch the crash.

I just went through my file cabinet to find some bills for when I was sick a few months back to show the power people have to make decisions on the medical care if they make the effort. We carry only major medical. All standard medical care we pay for ourselves. We, and when I say we I mean my wife contacted many doctors and let them know up front we dont have insurance that pays for basic medical care will they see us at a reduced rate. Most will say no, but there are doctors out there that will. I was sick a few months back and went to see the doctor because my sinuses where draining into my lungs and I could not breath. So at the doctor she gave me a breathing treatment and x-rayed my lungs and they where full. Got a prescription to clear me out. We got a bill a week later for $535.51. The wife called to remind them we self pay and a reduced rate was okayed by the doctor. One week later we got a new bill for $85.00 $535 is way to much for a doctor visit and $85 is more than fair. Most Americans wont put out the effort so they would love government paid heath care because then it wont even be 85 dollars it will be FREE right???

My youngest son had a siezure out of the blue about a month ago. Went to Sedalia, stayed in ER for 7 hours. Got home and he thought he remembered inhaling a peice of gum. Went to Warrensburg ER, said they really couldn't help us, they weren't set up to find gum in the lungs, stayed for 7 hours before they transferred him up to Childrens Mercy in KC. Stayed there for a day and a half. Found no gum and no reason for the seizure. At least there they ran tests and had doctors actually check him out.
I was with him from start to finish and can tell you that the EMT's on the ambulance did more than any DR that came to see him and got paid less. Something magical happens when you show the hospital the insurance card. You get to stay for hours on end and talk to noone and when you get the bill it has doctors names on it that you know did not visit your child.
Must be something special about 7 hours. Total bill for a seizure with no answer. $32,865. Of course with insurance I don't have to pay that much, but someone does, and it's paying for all the illegals that clog up the ER's around here with children that have a runny nose.
If that offends a few people on here, tough! It's the truth.

Yes, the hospitals like to stick it to you if you don't have insurance. When my youngest was born (6 years ago), she had a hole in her heart. They had to fly her from Rolla hospital to Cardinal Glennen in St. Louis. They billed the insurance company incorrectly so of course it was rejected and we were sent a bill........$10,000. I called them and they said they did not follow the correct procedure for billing the company and to just throw the bill away as my insurance company would pay it after they resubmitted it. My insurance always sent me an itemized bill for services paid for....... The insurance only paid a total of a little over $800 for that helicopter flight.....yup we would have taken it up the hiney if we would have had to pay for it personally- which is completely ridiculous.....lets charge people without insurance an absurd amount that they cannot possibly ever pay........

Guess I don't get it. We already have health care for people that can't afford it-- it is called Medicaid. Taxpayers pay for it and give it to those that can't afford it. So what is the problem???
I really have nothing against giving someone in need- health care for a finite time until they can get things stabilized in their life. Or for somone who really can't work and who really needs it. It is a grand idea, but the idea doesn't work as planned.
I do have a problem with the medicaid receipent who is able to work but chooses not to. The one with the new sports car while I am driving a 10 year old chevy pickup-- and don't think I am making this up. I have worked in health care. They use the ER for their doctors office. Instead of going to Walgreens to buy a $8 pregnenacy test they go to the ER because it is free and they get a meal. I need to write a book of all the waste I have witnessed during my time in the field. It is unbelievable.

gundog, you get it totally, and you've seen it. Now imagine Medicaid for everyone. You couldn't find a parking place at the ER, much less any health care.

O bam wants to levy the insurance benefit that people have as income which would be taxed and that tax use to cover the uninsured.....what about the income level of the ones who have no insurance coverage is it higher than the ones that have.......a company considers benefits in the wage package and could or would pay a higher pay scale if no benefits were paid.........I have talk to military men who have seen first hand what care is available through the Socialist Government and they were apalled.......off of my soap box.

Where you been since the election Dale? National health insurance is a done deal, just waiting on the details. You're already behind! Now Obama's moved on to taking over the credit card companies. While we're busy watching one house burn, he's across town setting another neighborhood on fire.

it's time for everyone to look behind obama, at the puppeteers controlling him, the congress, and the entire world for that matter. they are called the federal reserve bank. the federal reserve is no more federal than federal express. it is not a government entity as most people think. it is a private bank that has been unconstitutionally debasing our monetary system and systematically destroying our nation since it's conception in 1913. that is when they stole our gold and enslaved us with their system of central banking(with the help of puppet politicians). the only way to get our country back is to get rid of the fed.

Hillary tried to get National Health Care in during her run in office. Newt and the Republican led Congress said "nuh uh". I don't think Republicans are perfect either, but I will vote for them as the lesser of two evils. What we really need is a clean slate, term limits for Congress, statesmen not politicians. Of course as the saying goes you can wish in one hand and s*** in the other...
