Found a few more today. I left them in the ground to see if they get any bigger. These were about 1 1/2" tall and very fresh. Next weekend should be much better if we get some of those 70° days and the rain they are calling for.
I did bring home some Wood Ear mushrooms. Saute'ed them in butter with red and yellow peppers. Seasoned with a little salt, black pepper and a dash of Turmeric. Ate them over boiled rice. It was good but there was not much mushroom flavor as the wood ears basically take on the taste of the other ingredients. They are high in protein and fiber. No sugars and low sodium. Also low in calories. Less than 80 in a one cup serving.

farmnhunter: If you want to avoid feline, you can't use any meat or fish item or scent. Try a piece of black licorish covered by dairy feed, or lucky charms or corn/koolaid (mix 1 qt whole corn with a package of grape koolaid)
