I went to the spring meeting at Miller Fur Company today. There were probably 30 trappers and MTA officers in attendance. I think the beautiful weather and the Youth Spring Turkey season opener kept a lot of people from coming. Still a good time. Food was good. Demo's of coon skinning, and fleshing were great too. Doren's fur grading class was fun! He made up test papers and allowed anyone to grade 4 different animals. He had 5 different grades of fur for each animal and we had to put them in order from best to worst. The winner of the Fur grading contest was Conservation Agent Mike Christensen. Doren provided him with some new DP's I believe. I was probably near the bottom with a 35% correct sheet.
Met some trappers I already knew and a few new guys. It was my pleasure to meet MTA President Robbie Page, MTA Treasurer Paul Webb, and Interim District 2 Deputy Director Bob Scarlett. He lead the meeting in Gene Whyte's absence.
Here's a few pictures I took with my phone.

farmnhunter: If you want to avoid feline, you can't use any meat or fish item or scent. Try a piece of black licorish covered by dairy feed, or lucky charms or corn/koolaid (mix 1 qt whole corn with a package of grape koolaid)
