Went to Whetstone conservation clinic to day. In district 2. We set 31 traps a bunch of dp's. We are supposed to met back at 7am to check. But my oldest boy had a little mishap he ripped his big toe open after we got home. So now he is stitched up and not able to go back. He is to keep his foot elevated. Not a good thing.

I believe have2trap said we had about 40 people at today's clinic. Weather was a little cool at first. Mid 40's with a bit of wind. Warmed up nicely and was just about perfect.
We saw a good water demo from Jay G. ( jaytrap ) and a good dirthole set by Gene Whyte, the new MTA District 2 Director.
We also got to see a MDC Cable Restraint demonstration and explanation of the rules to the dozen or so kids there.
Conservaton Agent Chris ? gave a nice talk about trapper ethics and respect, ROW trapping, trespassing, tagging Otter and Bobcat, etc. etc. etc.
Past MTA President Doren Miller did a demo on how to skin a coon properly. Do's and don't about skinning and processing fur to maximize your $$$ when selling.
His wife did a great demo on fleshing and Doren showed how to properly stretch after fleshing. Of course there was a small sample of trapping supplies for sale as well.
Attendee's enjoyed grilled burgers and hot dogs with chips and water. All for free. BTW, I meant to offer a donation for the food and water but completely forgot as the demo's got underway. Is it too late?
I finally got to meet mmaxwell . It was a pleasure sir! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. It was good to see you again bverboy! You got away before I could wish you luck in the upcoming season. Several other members were there as well. I may have missed some! If I did, please let me know!

farmnhunter: If you want to avoid feline, you can't use any meat or fish item or scent. Try a piece of black licorish covered by dairy feed, or lucky charms or corn/koolaid (mix 1 qt whole corn with a package of grape koolaid)
