Can you get to the entrances of the lodge? those are deep enough. Here's a picture of the anatomy of a lodge. They have to dive down to get in. they have to have deep water around or they fall prey to all the predators. So there has to be deeper water around there. Did you find where they are going to cut?
You could aim for a back foot and just make sure it can't tangle. Or a 330 on the approach. Tom showed us that at the rondy. I wanna see the beaver mans opinion. Can u find where they are going in and out of the water to kill trees?

And Beaver's biggest predators are bobcat and coyotes (aside from human). They have to come on land to cut, and predators prey on the kits. I have read they are the delicacy of carnivores. Beavers dam just so they can deepen their waters and create a 'mote' around them to protect them from predators. Beavers in shallow water wouldn't last long.

farmnhunter: If you want to avoid feline, you can't use any meat or fish item or scent. Try a piece of black licorish covered by dairy feed, or lucky charms or corn/koolaid (mix 1 qt whole corn with a package of grape koolaid)
