Dang, I forgot about NAFA.......If I hadnt of sent my coon then they would only have 624,973. I was surprised at how big a crowd there was at Walmart parking lot for the NAFA pickup. It was kinda like a reunion of people I had forgot about. One dog man had 200 coon and another guy had like 30 bobcat.

Grey fox sold 50% above valuations. On my southern bobcats I lost $2 off of valuations.
Coons, otter, beaver, mink and coyotes are tomorrow.

The grey fox market has been pretty poor the last couple of years.

The increase in the number of new shippers was almost as shocking as the increased volume of fur.....Lots of trappers realizing where their fur had been going after it was sold to the local dealers and that they could get more out of it by shipping.

Supertrap, There are several reasons for this increased volume.
#1) you have more trappers shipping to NAFA than ever before
#2) NAFA had one heck of a good sale in February, lots of fur came out of the freezer because of those higher prices. (look at the volume of southern / Texas bobcats that came out of storage for this sale)
#3) we just had one of the mildest winters on record, most trappers caught coons all winter long this year instead of being frozen out by the first of December and the coon hibernating like most years.
